Summary

Research by the group of Prof. Martín focuses on discovering the potential of the catalytic functionalization of raw materials for the synthesis of valuable compounds from simple and abundant precursors. Recently, they have described a catalytic technology capable of fixing carbon dioxide in saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons to prepare fatty acids, key building blocks in the manufacture of polymers, detergents, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
